Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, recently announced the latest event-exclusive product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," the "HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith [Clear Color]," scheduled to go on sale starting October 08, 2022.
The Gundam Lfrith, which appeared in the prequel, is a prototype mobile suit developed by Ochs Earth Corporation, established on Earth. The innovative "GUND-Format technology" adopted by this machine is a mobile suit technology developed from "GUND," a body function expansion technology used in social welfare medical engineering such as prosthetics. Such machines are called Gundam (GUND-ARM). The Gundam Lfrith is equipped with a next-generation swarm remote-control weapon system called GUND-Bits. It uses the new mineral Permet as a medium to link the pilot with the AI installed in the machine, thereby controlling 7 GUND-Bits equipped with thrust vectoring nozzles and beam cannons. These can form a powerful shield to defend against beam attacks, act as all-range beam attack floating weapons, or link with the backpack and rifle to enhance firepower and mobility.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Lfrith [Clear Color]" is based on the previously released standard version. The red and white parts' molding colors are replaced with clear material, creating a special texture with high translucency that allows a view of the internal frame mechanism. The chest armor continues to use parts made with IMD (In-Mold Decoration) molding technology, reproducing the intricate patterns of its illuminated state.
This kit features high-density detail sculpting and recreates the armaments that appeared in the show. It includes a beam rifle that can be fitted with beam effect parts. The 7 GUND-Bits can be combined to form a shield, separated to become all-range beam attack floating weapons, or linked with the backpack and beam rifle slots to recreate the "BIT ON FORM" stance, which boasts enhanced firepower and mobility.
