Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys recently announced its latest product from the Star Wars series "The Book of Boba Fett", this time focusing on humanity's good helpers, the reliable droids! The "R5-D4 & Pit Droid & BD-72" 1/6th scale collectible set is here! Expected to ship in Q3-Q4 2023.
This robot set is inspired by the scene in Chapter 5 of "The Book of Boba Fett" where the Mandalorian arrives at Peli Motto's location. It includes the astromech droid "R5-D4", the humanoid droid "Pit Droid", and the very cute BD-series droid "BD-72", which fans of "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" will love even more. The droids stand approximately 8-22 cm tall. Each robot features multiple articulated joints for various poses, and their realistic weathering paintwork fully reflects the constantly sandy environment of Tatooine.
"R5-D4" is approximately 20 cm tall, equipped with a 360° rotatable head, functional rolling wheels, a retractable auxiliary leg, and also includes an antenna and damaged motivator to recreate the short-circuit scene from "A New Hope".
"Pit Droid" is approximately 22 cm tall, with a total of 18 points of articulation throughout its body. Its distinctive cyclops design becomes more endearing the more you look at it. It would be even more perfect if a multi-pack featuring several Pit Droids from the show was released!
Finally, "BD-72" is approximately 8 cm tall, miniature in size but rich in detail. The exposed wires on the inside of its feet are meticulously recreated, and it has 8 points of articulation allowing you to pose it like a cute little pet.
