Following the GN Devise Exia, the popular die-cast toy series 'METAL BUILD', released by BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, Japan, has announced the second product from the new collaboration project with Gundam 00, 'Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle': the 'Gundam Dynames & GN Devise Dynames', scheduled for release in May 2023.
The new story 'Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle', a collaboration between Gundam 00 and the METAL BUILD series, recounts the development of the 'TWIN DRIVE' system during the first and second seasons of the anime. After Celestial Being, a private armed organization that eradicates war through armed intervention, ended the civil war in the Kingdom of Azadistan, various Earth forces secretly collaborated to plan a counterattack against Celestial Being. To gain power to stand against the world, Celestial Being experimentally equipped the 'DOUBLE DRIVE' system on mobile suits such as Gundam Exia and Gundam Dynames during this period, obtaining double the amount of GN particles by linking two GN Drives, thereby unleashing higher mobile suit performance.
The 'METAL BUILD Gundam Dynames & GN Devise Dynames' is based on the previously released Gundam Dynames Repair III. Mechanical designer Takayuki Yanase was once again invited to supervise, and numerous new parts are used to recreate the Gundam Dynames piloted by Lockon Stratos. The entire model features high-quality color application, abundant body markings, and flexible yet robust articulation thanks to its die-cast joints.
This product also recreates Gundam Dynames' diverse weapon mechanisms, including the precision camera deployment mechanism in the head for sniping, the GN Missile Launcher deployment mechanisms in the front skirt and knee armor, and the bipod deployment mechanism for its signature weapon, the GN Sniper Rifle. Additionally, it features new METAL BUILD original design mechanisms: the GN Full Shields mounted on both shoulders are equipped with multiple independent movable joints, allowing them to deploy in various directions like a cloak, making shooting poses more dynamic and less rigid. They can even be utilized in prone firing positions, and two GN Beam Pistols can be stored inside the shields.
The newly designed equipment for this collaboration project, the 'GN DEVISE Backpack', is fundamentally the same as the Exia version. It can be equipped by simply removing the original GN DRIVE part. The backpack features flexible auxiliary arms concealed on both sides, allowing for different combat styles from the original, utilizing weapons such as GN Beam Pistols and GN Beam Sabers.
