Prototype Revealed! S.H.MonsterArts Gigan (1972) Articulated Figure, Featuring its Classic First Appearance Design from "Godzilla vs. Gigan"!

TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, recently exhibited a prototype of the latest Godzilla series entry, "Gigan (1972)," at the Godzilla FES 2022. The release date is TBD.

This Gigan (1972) release appeared in the 1972 film "Godzilla vs. Gigan." This marked the popular monster Gigan's debut film. In the film, it is a cyborg monster created by the M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens, who modified a space dinosaur to invade Earth. Its entire body is equipped with ferocious weaponry, including a laser beam cannon on its head, a heat ray fired from its mouth, scythe-like giant hammer hands, and a rotating blade on its abdomen. Gigan's actions could be controlled by signals transmitted from the "Godzilla Tower" located at their base.

The "S.H.MonsterArts Gigan (1972)" completely reproduces the suit design of the original Gigan from the film, meticulously detailing the mechanical-looking electronic eyes, the sharp blade-like parts across its body, as well as the skin texture that repurposed King Ghidorah's scales from the original suit, and its dorsal wings. Although the range of articulation was not demonstrated at this exhibition, precise articulation segmentation designs can be observed in its neck, torso, and limbs.
