The popular die-cast toy series "METAL BUILD," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., debuted several new prototype products from the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series at the TAMASHII NATION 2022 event held last weekend.
This exhibition lineup, in addition to several already released products with publicly announced information, also debuted the long-teased powerful ultimate boss mobile suit from "Gundam SEED," the "Providence Gundam," piloted by Rau Le Creuset in the final battle. The entire unit features a heavy, textured color scheme with various metallic and silver-gray paints, and the armor details boast new designs different from the original work. The backpack, equipped with the DRAGOON system, also seems to hide original mechanisms unique to the MB series, and wielding the massive "Judgment" large beam rifle, it exudes immense power.
Also exhibited alongside it was a new Striker Pack that can be equipped by the Strike Gundam, the "Nix Providence Striker Pack." This Striker Pack was originally an additional equipment for the ZGMF-X12A Testament Gundam after it was captured by the Earth Alliance Forces. In addition to being used as a flight unit, it also possesses the function to transform into a large arm, capable of being equipped on the left arm to unleash close-quarters combat abilities. The METAL BUILD version also includes the Assault Shield System "Trikeros Kai" equipped on the right arm, and can combine the Nix Providence Striker Pack with the Trikeros Kai into an original automatic flight form. Since the backpack has been produced first, perhaps the Testament Gundam itself also has a chance to appear in the MB series in the future.
There was also another item, which was the ALTERNATIVE STRIKE version of the "METAL BUILD Lightning Striker Pack." The overall mold design and mechanism are essentially identical to the regular version released in 2020, but there are slight differences in the molded color of some parts, the paint colors, and the design of the unit markings. This backpack is also compatible with most Strike Gundam and Astray Gundam series mobile suits released in the METAL BUILD series.
