BANDAI SPIRITS' collectible toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, recently showcased a prototype of the latest entry in their popular alloy toy series, "Soul of Chogokin," featuring "Gurren Lagann" from the popular hot-blooded anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. The release date is yet to be determined.
Appearing in the third episode of the anime, Gurren Lagann is the colossal robot formed by the combination of protagonist Simon's "Lagann" and Kamina's "Gurren," incidentally also "borrowing" the helmet of Beastman Viral's "Enki." Gurren Lagann, powered by Simon's "Spiral Power," unleashes equivalent abilities, continuously evolving with Simon's fighting spirit and mental growth. Drills can extend from various parts of its body to attack enemies, and the massive drill on its right arm can unleash the devastating, one-hit kill "Giga Drill Break." It truly is a dream machine embodying the ultimate romance for men!
The "Soul of Chogokin Gurren Lagann" prototype exhibited showcases an overall design that is more faithful to the anime's refined and robust aesthetic. Next to it, the pre-combination form "Gurren" can also be seen. Accessories include a drill part even larger than the main body, capable of recreating the super hot-blooded special move "Giga Drill Break." Furthermore, various parts of the body have reserved holes for attaching drill parts, making it highly likely to recreate the "Full Drillize" (or "Full Drill Attack") move, where drills erupt from all over its body.
