The popular soft vinyl monster "SUSHI-L.A.", a collaboration between renowned Japanese illustrator NakaoTeppei (ナカオテッペイ) and Sentinel, will launch four new flavors at the 19th Taipei Toy Festival (TTF) and will be available at Mushroom Toys' Booth A64!
《What is SUSHI-L.A.?》
While a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles was making "extra-large sushi with a large amount of wasabi," the sushi suddenly mutated due to the excessively spicy wasabi, giving birth to "sushi monsters" with eyes, hands, and feet; as they walk, grains of rice fall one by one to the ground. After 100 steps, their feet disappear, and after dying, they are just ordinary large sushi.
The "sushi topping" covering them from head to back can be removed like a hermit crab. Depending on the "sushi topping," SUSHI-L.A.'s personality will undergo various changes. If regular-sized sushi gets stained by their weapon, "wasabi liquid," it will be given new life and become a "sushi monster" with them. However, if their movements are too violent, the "wasabi liquid" will flow from their head throughout their entire body, eventually leading to their demise.
*Note: The original name is SUSHI-L.A. (Japanese: スシエルエー; Chinese pronunciation: Shòu Sī L.A.). However, because many classic Japanese monster names often end with "拉" (ra), and its appearance closely resembles "Godzilla," the Chinese translation is rendered as "壽司拉" (Shòu Sī Lā) to capture this meaning.
This time, "SUSHI-L.A." comes in two types of toppings: shrimp and fish. The shrimp section includes two varieties: Spot Prawns and Raw Shrimp. The translucent shrimp meat is adorned with dazzling glitter, and the soft pink visual effect of the shrimp tails is also excellent. The fish section features Bluefin Tuna, commonly known as "Black Tuna" in Taiwan, and Aurora Salmon. Paired with distinct grains of vinegared rice, they are truly cute and delicious! It's worth noting that although it's not very clear from the official images, based on the text description, both fish toppings should also be made with added glitter material and have a translucent feel.
