Japanese toy brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable painted PVC figure series "POP UP PARADE" is scheduled to release a PVC product of the demon slayer "Sango", one of the important main characters from the classic work "Inuyasha", in May 2023!
"Inuyasha" was created and launched by the renowned Japanese manga artist Rumiko Takahashi, known for works such as "Urusei Yatsura" and "Ranma ½". It was first serialized in 1996 and concluded in 2008. The story describes how the protagonist, Kagome Higurashi, on her 15th birthday, is dragged into an old well at a shrine by a centipede demon, unexpectedly traveling through time back to the Sengoku period 500 years ago. There, she encounters the half-demon protagonist Inuyasha, and after a series of events, Kagome and Inuyasha embark on a journey to find the shards of the Shikon Jewel.
In the original work, Sango is a 16-year-old demon slayer. She initially mistakenly believed Inuyasha was the enemy responsible for the massacre of her entire demon slayer family, and thus constantly sought to kill him. However, this was all due to Naraku's schemes. After learning the truth, she joined Inuyasha's group to seek revenge and rescue her younger brother Kohaku. During their journey, she and her companion Miroku developed feelings for each other, eventually marrying and having two daughters (twins named Kin'u and Gyokuto) and one son (Hisui).
This POP UP PARADE Sango figure's appearance is not based on her usual tight-fitting battle attire, but rather another set of more everyday Japanese vintage clothing, featuring a pink and green color scheme. Sango appears gentle, virtuous, and graceful. Though she usually carries her Hiraikotsu, she holds no accessories in her hands here, which further highlights her exceptional elegance.
