The latest product from Japan's MECHA SMILE brand's 'MODEROID' model kit series, the "Aestivalis Aerial Combat Frame" from the anime "Martian Successor Nadesico," was announced today, with an anticipated release in May 2023.
Aestivalis is a humanoid mobile weapon developed by NERGAL Heavy Industries. Standing approximately 6 meters tall, it features highly flexible movable joints. The unit does not have an onboard engine; instead, it receives gravity wave beams emitted by its mothership via a gravity wave module for power. Its highly versatile design, centered around the "Assault Pit," allows the Aestivalis to be reconfigured into various specifications such as Land Battle, Aerial Combat, and Heavy Armament types, depending on the mission environment. The unit also incorporates an "Image Feedback System (IFS)," which injects nanomachines into the pilot's body to assist in piloting, making controls more intuitive.
The "MODEROID Aestivalis Aerial Combat Frame" is comprised of multi-color molded parts, pre-painted parts, and decals. Once assembled, it stands approximately 12 cm tall, faithfully reproducing the streamlined aerial combat specification armor and back thrusters. The sensor antenna hidden in the head can be opened and closed. Its armaments include a Rapid Rifle, a Quick Slash Sword, and a Field Lancer that can replicate its extended tip state. By replacing certain parts, the separation and transformation mechanism of the system core, the "Assault Pit," can be recreated. Furthermore, it can be freely re-equipped with other Aestivalis series units sold separately!
Additionally, the product includes a "Okamochi-style Spare Battery Case," resembling a Japanese delivery box, with a lid that can be pulled open upwards. Those who order the "MODEROID Aestivalis Aerial Combat Frame" from the "GOODSMILE Online Shop" will receive an additional identical "Okamochi-style Spare Battery Case" as a bonus!
