The plastic model kit series "MODEROID", launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, today announced the latest product from the anime "Martian Successor Nadesico", the "Aestivalis Land Battle Frame", which is scheduled for release in May 2023.
The Aestivalis is a humanoid mobile weapon developed by Nergal Heavy Industries, standing approximately 6 meters tall and featuring highly flexible articulated joints. The unit is not equipped with an engine but instead receives gravity wave beams emitted from its mothership via a gravity wave unit for propulsion. Its highly versatile design, centered around the Aestivalis Frame, allows it to be reconfigured into several specifications such as Land Battle, Aerial Battle, Heavy Armament, and more, depending on the mission environment. Additionally, the unit is equipped with an "Image Feedback System (IFS)," which injects nanomachines into the pilot's body to assist in piloting, making the controls more intuitive.
The "MODEROID Aestivalis Land Battle Frame" is composed of multi-color molded parts, pre-painted parts, and decals. Once assembled, it stands approximately 12 cm tall and features articulated mechanisms at various joints. Its armaments include two rapid rifles and two quick-slash swords for Land Battle specifications. It also comes with cable parts that connect the upper and lower arms, allowing for the recreation of its signature cable punch firing scene. By replacing certain parts, the separation and transformation mechanism of the system's core, the "Aestivalis Frame," can be reproduced. Combine it with other Aestivalis series units (sold separately) for even more customization!
Furthermore, the product also allows you to assemble a "Grasshopper," a mobile weapon used by the enemy faction "Jovian Lizards," which can recreate its flying state using interchangeable parts.
