Following the popular METAL BUILD alloy toy series from BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, the new spin-off series 'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE', after the well-received 'Ryūjinmaru', recently showcased the painted prototype of the second installment from 'Mashin Hero Wataru', 'Ryūōmaru'. Release date is TBD.
'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE' continues the hallmarks of the MB series, such as 'alloy parts combined with a profoundly weighty paint finish' and 'reinterpreting the design style to match the character', while adding new elements like 'movable exterior armor resembling dragon scales' and 'internal structures imbued with a soul'. The first product, 'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Ryūjinmaru', already featured a meticulously crafted golden dragon-shaped internal frame and movable armor structures that enhance both its aesthetics and articulation, injecting a wealth of new ideas into the classic mecha.
The prototype of 'Ryūōmaru', Ryūjinmaru's enhanced successor, showcased this time, also continues the aforementioned characteristics, interpreting Ryūōmaru's striking multi-color design of gold, black, and white in a brand-new style. Its overall sense of heft and presence has evolved even further compared to Ryūjinmaru. Furthermore, it will be the first METAL BUILD series product to feature a transformation mechanism, allowing fans to anticipate its design transforming from its Mashin form into the flying 'Hōō Form'.
