Following the release of the Rei Ayanami (Tentative Name) Third Village Ver., based on Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, Kaiyodo, a Japanese toy company, is once again launching a new product in its "EVANGELION EVOLUTION" action figure series, which combines exquisite sculpting with Revoltech Reboot technology: the "EVANGELION EVOLUTION Mari Makinami Illustrious Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Prototype Plugsuit ver." This item has a suggested retail price of 8,690 JPY and is scheduled for release in August 2023!
The new "Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Prototype Plugsuit," which appeared in Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, was created for the final battle and worn by Asuka and Mari. It features a white main color scheme with iridescent accents and personal red and pink lines. As its name suggests, its characteristic feature is to help the wearer adapt to drastic pressure changes. Fans often refer to it simply as the "White Plugsuit," while in the series, Asuka jokingly calls it a "shroud."
The "EVANGELION EVOLUTION Mari Makinami Illustrious Deep Dive Pressure-Resistant Prototype Plugsuit ver." action figure stands approximately 160 mm tall. It faithfully recreates Mari's white plugsuit design with a newly sculpted body featuring 16 points of articulation! Sculpted by Enoki-sensei, the design incorporates articulation without compromising proportions, allowing for a wide range of motion. It comes with 8 interchangeable hand parts and three interchangeable face parts (normal, angry, and smiling) to recreate her active scenes from the film!
▼The details of the glasses and expressions are faithfully reproduced, and her composed expression during combat is incredibly captivating!
▼The white plugsuit, which envelops her entire body, is accented with sharp pink lines, thoroughly recreating her appearance from the film. Notably, the chest size is also distinctly different from the separately sold Asuka!
