TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently announced the latest product from the 'ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.' robot-themed articulated finished product series, the "Gouf Flight Type," from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team," scheduled for release in May 2023.
The MS-07H8 Gouf Flight Type is an experimental mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon, aiming to combine the flight capabilities of the MS transport aircraft "Dodai YS" with the ground combat MS "Gouf." It sought to gain a greater advantage in atmospheric combat and was finally completed after numerous trials and modifications. This model is equipped with the armaments of the Gouf Custom and features large thrusters and significantly oversized legs, capable of generating immense thrust for short-duration atmospheric flight. Its extremely high mobility allows for three-dimensional tactical operations in complex terrain, enabling surprise attacks on enemy ground forces. However, by the time this unit was officially completed, the One Year War battlefield had gradually shifted to space, and ultimately, only a very small number were produced.
The "ROBOT魂 Gouf Flight Type ver. A.N.I.M.E." meticulously reproduces the shoulders with built-in thrusters and the significantly oversized legs using new parts, detailing the jet turbines, nozzles, and wings to faithfully recreate its in-show design. Articulated designs such as pull-out joints in the shoulders and interlocking armor in the knee joints enable natural posing. Armaments include the Gatling Shield, 3-barrel 35mm Gatling Gun, Heat Saber, and four sets of jet effect parts to recreate dynamic flight scenes.
Additionally, accessories include weapon rack parts for the Gundam Ez-8, which can be equipped with the separately sold "ROBOT魂 Gundam Ez-8 ver. A.N.I.M.E.".
