To commemorate the 15th anniversary of 'THE IDOLM@STER XENOGLOSSIA,' the distinctive robot series within THE IDOLM@STER franchise, Japan's MECHA SMILE brand recently announced the latest product in its assembly model 'MODEROID' series: the in-series robot iDOL, 'IMBER,' scheduled for release in July 2023.
Unlike the typical singing and dancing THE IDOLM@STER series, 'THE IDOLM@STER XENOGLOSSIA' is set in a future Earth world that has experienced a great catastrophe after the moon's collapse and is now undergoing reconstruction. Classic characters like Haruka Amami become pilots of the meteor-destroying robots 'iDOL' in this work, preventing the constant barrage of falling meteors from causing disaster on Earth. The iDOL piloted by protagonist Haruka Amami is named 'IMBER.' This unit can only be piloted by Haruka Amami and can act with its own consciousness, possessing a romantic-like obsession with Haruka. All its actions are for Haruka, and it occasionally secretly photographs various aspects of Haruka's daily life.
The 'MODEROID IMBER' kit is composed of multi-colored molded parts and pre-painted parts. Once assembled, it stands approximately 17 cm tall, faithfully reproducing the in-series design and featuring flexible articulated joints. It can also recreate its flight form by swapping parts. The waist and chest armor can be freely interchanged to display the blue color from the first half of the series, the pink color when Haruka Amami is piloting, and the white color when Chihaya Kisaragi is piloting.
Various mechanisms, including the deployment of the landing gear on the legs, the extension of arm weaponry, and the sliding of the shoulders, allow for recreating multiple sortie scenes from the series. Furthermore, the arms can be replaced with the 'Faustschlag,' a massive twin-arm additional equipment for IMBER, which features a deployment mechanism to transition from standby to operational mode. The extension and retraction of the rear connecting tubes can also be reproduced by swapping parts.
Orders for 'MODEROID IMBER' placed through the 'GOODSMILE Online Shop' will receive the limited bonus item: the '1/1 Scale iDOL Activation Key "Ai"'!
