BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially announced today the latest addition to its robot-themed action figure series, 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.', featuring the "Gundam (Rollout Color) & Plamo-Kyoshiro Special Parts Set" from "Mobile Suit Gundam MSV", scheduled for release in June 2023.
The RX-78-2 Gundam (Rollout Color) being commercialized is the same mobile suit piloted by Amuro Ray, the protagonist of "Mobile Suit Gundam". In the MSV setting, before this unit was transported to Side 7 colony and piloted by Amuro, it maintained its factory rollout state, with a silver-white exterior coating and red warning and caution markings printed on various parts of its body. It was only after being sent to Side 7 for final testing that it was painted in the familiar red, blue, and white colors.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam (Rollout Color) & Plamo-Kyoshiro Special Parts Set ver. A.N.I.M.E." faithfully reproduces the silver-white color scheme and red warning/caution markings from its rollout state. It features flexible articulation and comes with a beam rifle, beam saber, hyper bazooka, shield, a set of beam effects, and various interchangeable hand parts.
Furthermore, the included "Plamo-Kyoshiro Special Parts Set" contains a set of additional armor, allowing for the recreation of the Simple Armor Type Gundam from the manga "Plamo-Kyoshiro", a unit built by STREAM BASE's Masahiro Oda. He used this mobile suit in a training simulation battle to point out the weaknesses of Kyoshiro's Perfect Gundam, and imparted secrets such as the ability to shed armor as needed during combat, providing Kyoshiro with blueprints to create the Full Armor Gundam.
The special parts set also includes leg replacement parts for use with the separately sold "ROBOT SPIRITS Perfect Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E.", allowing for the recreation of the comic version's primary red, white, and black color scheme!
