Following the Angel-Type Arnval, the popular 'Megami Device' plastic model series, released by Japanese model manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA, which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly articulated bishoujo bodies, today announced its latest collaborative product with 'Busou Shinki', the 'Devil-Type Strafe', scheduled for release in May 2023.
The 'Megami Device Devil-Type Strafe' utilizes the highly articulated Machineca body, designed by sculptor Masaki Asai in recent years, to recreate the classic 'Busou Shinki' character Devil-Type Strafe, originally released in 2006. It also retains numerous design elements that pay homage to the original MMS body. With this reconstruction under plastic model specifications, details such as part color separation, joint surfaces, and articulation have all been further evolved.
Due to the adoption of the same Machineca body, it can share most parts with existing Megami Device series products for customization. However, features like the pull-out hip joints and single-axis elbow joints are dedicated specifications that remain unchanged, paying homage to the MMS body. Accessories include three pre-painted face parts designed by the renowned expression decal artist Ama, various interchangeable hand parts, and armaments such as exoskeleton armor, various short knives, a grenade launcher, and a pistol. It can be switched at any time from the unarmed 'Body Mode' to the fully weaponized 'Armed Mode'.
Similar to the Angel-Type Arnval, this product will also include an additional set of φ3.3mm BONUS parts, featuring a rich assortment of accessories such as neck joints, wrist parts, and full-body connection parts. These are compatible with the parts specifications of the 'Busou Shinki' series figures sold back then, allowing for self-modification and expansion. Furthermore, it can recreate the 'CSC' jewel core from the game's settings, and by replacing parts, two internal structures can be reproduced after removing the chest armor!
