The Mysterians return! Japanese toy manufacturer X-PLUS is set to release a PVC figure of the alien character, the Mysterian "Mid-Level Commander", from Toho's classic tokusatsu film "The Mysterians"! Scheduled for release in March 2023.
"The Mysterians" is an SF tokusatsu film produced by Toho, released in Japan in 1957. It was the first Toho tokusatsu film to introduce giant robot elements, as well as authentic depictions of outer space, flying saucers, and beam weapons. The story describes how the Mysterians, an alien race, secretly arrive on Earth to ensure the continuation of their species, attempting to interbreed with humans and establishing a secret base at Mount Fuji. Although researcher Ryoichi Shiraishi issued warnings, they were not heeded. Subsequently, the aliens deployed giant robots to attack cities and demanded the right to reside on Earth from the Japanese government. The United Nations rejected their demands and decided to form the "Earth Defense Force" to combat the enemy.
