Planetary Mechanism - Space Defender Ace
In a new discovery, scientists have found a tenth planet in the solar system named Prometheus (プロメテ) that harbors various resources. Dr. Jiang (大江戸), a scientist, plans to conduct explorations there. However, another scientist, Dr. Doppler (ドップラー), filled with personal ambition, aims to sabotage the Prometheus colonization project (プロメテ移住計画, プロメテ計画) to monopolize the planet for himself.
Tian Xiong (一文字タクマ) bears the heavy responsibility of piloting the Space Defender (ダンガードA) in conjunction with the giant battle aircraft carrier Justice (ジャスダム) to combat Doppler.
Space Defender (ダンガードA)
Dr. Jiang (大江戸) meticulously developed this robot for immigration to Prometheus (プロメテ). Its height in robot form is 200 meters; in its 160-meter long flight form, it is called the Space Defense Force (サテライザー). It requires 2 pilots to operate.
Now, let's share some points that everyone should pay attention to or areas for improvement in the product!
Firstly, I hope the design team can improve on the Boxart! While the quality of the Space Defender itself is impressive, the packaging does not highlight the product's high quality and may not attract customers effectively. Additionally, regarding the instruction manual, it is suggested to switch from a two-color print back to full color, especially for products involving transformation. Lastly, the instruction manual did not mention that the small fists need to be assembled before transformation, so I'm reminding everyone about this!
Alright! Let's get to the main topic! There are very few Space Defender products; the previous ones were big models from the 70s and 80s, die-casts, and Bandai's Soul of Chogokin. Now, with Kingarts releasing such substantial alloy toy products, it is truly a blessing for our younger generation (?) who loves traditional large robot series!
The transformation of the mother-child machine is not complicated! Moreover, the internal structure this time is primarily presented through an armor exterior-bone removal method, which is different from the past full-body internal skeleton, but I personally find it very acceptable. The head of the Space Defender can also be displayed independently as an aircraft; however, I believe that during the mother-child machine's transformation, the storage part of the fist can actually be eliminated. After all, I still need to replace it with the small fist, and there is not much difference in appearance! The transformed letter machine is very sturdy! One thing to note is the connection points of the upper body wings; you need to ensure that the upper and lower body connection points are securely fastened before playing with it! However, because the tail of the mother-child machine is too heavy, it will definitely lean backward without a support stand... This situation warrants a point deduction...
When it comes to the Space Defender form, the only complaint I have is that the lower jaw of the head is too rounded, and that's it!
The overall appearance is majestic! If you're a fan of alloy toys, its weight will definitely meet your expectations, but I do not fall into this category! The arm mobility is decent, but due to the need for transformation, the waist needs to be hollowed out to accommodate the forearm storage, resulting in almost zero waist mobility. Additionally, the thighs do not have a similar pull-out joint like Bandai's, so the front and back movement range of the thighs and hip joints is limited. However, the knee and ankle joints' mobility are above average, compensating for the lower limb posing issues! The legs and back wings also have magnets for easy integration during transformation! The mechanical internal structure of this machine is also eye-catching, and the LED lights in the head and chest are particularly striking. They definitely add points to the overall appearance.
Overall, you can feel confident spending a bit over a thousand dollars on this product. If you are a die-hard fan of the Space Defender, you can buy it with peace of mind!
It's been a long time since I wrote such a detailed toy report! I sincerely hope this Space Defender is not the last product in the series!
