From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division, the new branch of the robot-themed plastic model series HG (High Grade), 'HG Amplified IMGN', following its first release 'Ryujinmaru', today officially announced the second product from 'Mashin Hero Wataru', 'Kuwagamaru', slated for release in January 2024. This product will be exclusively sold on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The 'HG Amplified IMGN' series, similar to the previous Figure-rise Standard Amplified series, takes 'Amplified' as its theme to expand the interpretation of characters, giving them drastically different appearances from their original settings through exaggerated imagination, while also incorporating the latest production techniques of the HG series and various original mechanisms. The machine released this time is the bird-type Mashin, Kuwagamaru, piloted by 'Bird Uncle' Wataru Gama, from 'Mashin Hero Wataru'.
The 'HG Amplified IMGN Kuwagamaru' continues the design style of Ryujinmaru, redesigning its original sparrow-like SD proportions into the cool form of a majestic giant eagle, using molded colors such as red, white, black, blue, and gold to create a mechanical body, with sharply sculpted edges and rich armor lines. For articulation, both the wings and talons feature joints, allowing for dynamic soaring poses. The Hawk Wave Cannons on both sides of the head can rotate their barrels, and the mouth can open to reveal an internal cannon.
This Kuwagamaru can also be played with the separately sold 'HG Amplified Ryujinmaru', transforming and mounting Kuwagamaru onto Ryujinmaru's back, just like in the original series, to recreate the flight form, 'Tenku Ryujinmaru'! In addition to posing Tenku Ryujinmaru in its flying combat stance, the product also features various original mechanisms, allowing Kuwagamaru's head and tail feathers to be detached and equipped onto Ryujinmaru's arms as a gun and shield.
