40th Anniversary of the Series! New Animation 'Dragon Ball DAIMA' Releases Teaser PV Scheduled for Fall 2024

The classic and popular anime series 'Dragon Ball,' following the successful release of the movie 'Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero' last year, was officially announced today (10/13) at the 'New York Comic Con' stage in the United States, that a new animation series titled Dragon Ball DAIMA (ドラゴンボールDAIMA(ダイマ)) will be produced. A teaser preview video and the work's logo were also revealed as a commemoration of the series' 40th anniversary, with a scheduled premiere in Fall 2024.

The original author, Akira Toriyama, explained that the title 'DAIMA' is inspired by the kanji for 'great demon' or the English word 'Evil.' It ties into an unknown conspiracy that transforms Goku and others back to their childhood forms, embarking on adventures to solve mysterious new events in an incredible world, and will also feature the long-unseen magic staff in Goku's battle scenes. Fans who love the series should look forward to it.

This time, there will also be work on the basic story settings and character designs, which has created a more immersed atmosphere than in the past. We hope everyone will enjoy this new style.

From the official stills released so far, not only has Goku gotten smaller, but almost all characters have reverted to their childhood appearances, evoking the magical adventure style of early 'Dragon Ball.'
