US toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys' "MCFARLANE DRAGONS" series recently unveiled its latest PVC pre-painted figure, "Smaug", from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug"! Scheduled for release in December 2023.
In "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", Smaug, the great dragon of Middle-earth, occupied the Lonely Mountain and greedily guarded every treasure. Smaug possessed immense intelligence, keen senses of smell, and terrifying fire-breathing abilities. Although he ultimately met a dramatic end at the hands of "Bard's" Black Arrow, Smaug truly symbolized fire and death.
This piece measures 11 inches (approximately 27.9 cm) in length and is assembled from several parts including the body, wings, and base. It faithfully recreates Smaug's orange-red dominant body color as seen in the film, showcasing excellent detail from the imposing wings, the curved neck, and the highly organic scale textures on its body, to the intricately sculpted head. Paired with a base featuring sculpted stair details and a nameplate, it presents a truly magnificent presence when displayed.
