Following Ryujinmaru and Kujinmaru, the new 'HG Amplified IMGN' branch series of robot-themed plastic models, launched by BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan, today announced its latest product from 'Mashin Hero Wataru', the 'Ryuo-maru', slated for release in May 2024.
The 'HG Amplified IMGN' series, similar to the previous Figure-rise Standard Amplified series, takes "Amplified" as its theme to expand the interpretation of characters, giving them a drastically different appearance from their original settings through exaggerated imagination. It also incorporates the latest production techniques of the HG series and various original mechanisms. The machine introduced this time is 'Ryuo-maru', the enhanced form obtained when Ryujinmaru's soul merged with Kujinmaru after its resurrection in 'Mashin Hero Wataru'.
Compared to the original's low-proportioned design, the 'HG Amplified IMGN Ryuo-maru' boasts a tall, approximately 17 cm overall height, with a body clad in white armor featuring flexible articulation. The head incorporates precise part separation and color division, with a transparent visor on the forehead and the option to display internal parts with or without patterns.
Numerous areas, including the head antenna, dragon claw patterns on both shoulders, back wings, and the blade of the Hououken (Phoenix Dragon Sword), are crafted using metallic gold molding or plated parts. The original patterns on the sword blade are created with 3D metallic texture stickers, presenting a magnificent metallic feel amidst the high-density detailed sculpting. Furthermore, the Hououken can be stored within its sheath-shield.
This product also recreates the original's "Houou Mode" (Phoenix King Mode) transformation mechanism, where the legs transform into massive wings, the arms become sharp claws, and the bird head concealed within the rear skirt armor deploys. In addition to the realistic proportions differing from the original, original feather parts have been added to the wings and tail, addressing the proportional issue of lacking a tail and resembling a chicken. These magnificent feather effects are created using shimmering, gradient-colored PET sheets.
