BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division of Japan recently announced that the event-exclusive product "MG 1/100 Gundam Epyon EW [CROSS CONTRAST COLORS / CLEAR WHITE]" from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz" will be sold at the Bandai Plastic Model Festival "HYPER PLAMO Fes.2024", held from March 22-24, 2024, at Makuhari Messe in Japan. The suggested retail price is 6,600 JPY (tax included).
OZ-13MS Gundam Epyon is a transformable mobile suit secretly developed by former OZ Supreme Commander Treize Khushrenada during his dismissal and confinement, based on data from the Tallgeese and the five Gundams. In contrast to other weapons designed for slaughter and victory, this machine's design reflects Treize's chivalrous spirit and beliefs. Its armaments are limited to close-combat weapons suitable for duels, such as a beam sword, a shield equipped with a heat rod, and twin arm claws. It boasts excellent mobility, a transformation mechanism into its "Dragon Mode" flight form, and also features the "Epyon System," which is analogous to the "ZERO System" of Wing Gundam Zero. Its performance is top-tier within the series.
This product is identical to the limited item previously sold at the Bandai official flagship store in China last year. The "CROSS CONTRAST COLORS" in its name refers to a new effect achieved by fusing various materials such as monochrome, clear, metallic colors, and decals with Bandai's researched Gunpla technology, creating a stark contrast to the original image. Gundam Epyon EW, which exudes a strong sense of evil in the original work, is transformed in this series into a knight bathed in a sacred aura, featuring cool white and gold armor designs.
The kit is a modification of the "MG 1/100 Gundam Epyon EW" released in 2011. The entire body armor is composed of clear white molded parts, creating a bright, transparent, and sacred atmosphere. Parts such as the armor edges, joints, and heat rod are made with gold molded parts, providing a luxurious and metallic heavy texture. This creates a strong reversal and contrast with the simultaneously released "MG 1/100 Wing Gundam Zero EW [CROSS CONTRAST COLORS / CLEAR PURPLE]".
