Released by BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE" confectionery toy series, which carves out precise structures and details at an average height of 55mm, today announced the latest product from the original "Mobile Suit Gundam," the "Mobile Suit Gundam Last Shooting Set," scheduled for release in August 2024.
The final battle of the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" took place at the space fortress "A Baoa Qu." Protagonist Amuro Ray, piloting the Gundam, engaged in an intense battle with Char Aznable, piloting the Newtype-use prototype mobile suit Zeong. The evenly matched duo, despite damaging parts of each other's mobile suits to gain an advantage, continued to counterattack with their powerful Newtype abilities. Ultimately, the Gundam, having lost its head and left arm, and the Zeong, reduced to only its head, simultaneously fired at each other and lost power, creating the classic "Last Shooting" scene.
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Mobile Suit Gundam Last Shooting Set" includes both the "Gundam" and "Zeong" mobile suits, along with a wealth of weapon effect parts. The Gundam's main body has been repainted with the low-saturation, heavy color scheme from the movie poster, and additional mobile suit markings have been printed on various areas such as the chest, waist, and legs. In addition to the previously featured beam rifle, hyper bazooka, and shield, two newly sculpted beam sabers have been added to recreate the final battle specifications.
The Zeong has also been repainted with the low-saturation, heavy color scheme from the movie poster, with additional mobile suit markings printed on the left and right shoulders, chest armor, and skirt armor. Two types of hand parts, open palm and clenched fist, are included for replacement. Furthermore, the "Wired 5-barrel Mega Particle Cannon" firing state can be recreated using the wrist cable extension parts. In addition, the set includes a newly produced "Last Shooting" scene recreation base and beam effects. By replacing the Gundam's left arm with the battle-damaged part and detaching the heads of both mobile suits, the classic "Last Shooting" scene can be recreated!
