BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, which offers the most diverse lineup of 1/144 scale Gunpla in the "HG (High Grade)" series, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing": the "HG 1/144 Altron Gundam," scheduled for release in October 2024. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The XXXG-01S2 Altron Gundam is the mobile suit secretly enhanced and modified by the five Gundam scientists after Chang Wufei's beloved "Shenlong Gundam" was captured by OZ. The enhancement focused on adapting to space combat, adding a pair of movable wings equipped with thrusters to the back to strengthen its space mobility. Both arms can transform into Dragon Fangs, and the flamethrowers increased from 2 sets to 4 sets. The Beam Glaive was modified into a Twin Beam Trident, overall increasing its firepower.
The "HG 1/144 Altron Gundam" is based on the TV version design, utilizing the latest color separation and part division technology to recreate the intricate modeling and colors of the entire mobile suit. It features flexible articulation designed to modern standards. The pair of movable wings on the backpack have multiple articulation points to change their deployment angle, and the Dragon Tail-shaped Twin Beam Cannon also has three rotation axes to adjust its firing direction.
The "Dragon Fangs" mounted on both arms can deploy their dragon head shape, fangs, and lower jaw via articulation points. By combining them with extension parts, the extended and bent state of both arms can be recreated. The main weapon, the "Twin Beam Trident," includes two types of parts: stored and deployed, allowing for dynamic combat poses with the mobile suit's flexible articulation.
