Today, BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS collector's toy division officially announced that the popular die-cast toy series "METAL BUILD" will be releasing its latest entry from the "Mobile Suit Gundam 00" side story, the "1.5 Gundam", which is currently under development. The release date is yet to be determined.
The CB-001.5 "1.5 Gundam" is a mobile suit created by repairing and enhancing the "1 Gundam", which was the Innovator-exclusive successor to the 0 Gundam. Its overall performance has been boosted by 1.5 times compared to its predecessor. It also features back binders with the same design as the "Alvaaron". Through the transformation of these binders, it can switch between various functions such as Flight Mode, High-Speed Flight Mode, Standby Mode, Attack Mode, and Defense Mode, and unleash high-firepower barrages using the built-in Alvaaron Cannons.
Currently, only a preview of the upper body of the prototype for the "METAL BUILD 1.5 Gundam" has been revealed, showcasing its refined and sharp design along with a metallic, heavy-duty paint finish. The latest prototype is expected to be unveiled for the first time at the 'METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024 WITH CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS' exhibition, held on July 05 this year. However, what's truly most anticipated is the appearance of the boss mobile suit "Reborns Gundam", which shares the same framework as the 1.5 Gundam and has long awaited an MG model, also joining the METAL BUILD series!
