METAL BUILD Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Side Story "1.5 Gundam" Prototype Exhibited, Mysterious New Work Teased for August Reveal!

The popular alloy toy series 'METAL BUILD', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., exhibited a prototype of its latest work, '1.5 Gundam', from the Mobile Suit Gundam 00 side story, at today's series special exhibition 'METAL BUILD FESTIVAL 2024 WITH CLUB TAMASHII MEMBERS'. The release date is yet to be determined.

CB-001.5 '1.5 Gundam' is a mobile suit that was repaired and enhanced from the '1 Gundam', the Innovator-exclusive successor to the 0 Gundam. Its overall performance has been boosted by 1.5 times compared to its predecessor, and it is also equipped with back binders designed similarly to the 'Alvaaron'. Through the transformation of these binders, it can switch between various functions such as flight mode, high-speed flight mode, standby mode, attack mode, and defense mode, and perform high-firepower shooting with the Alvaaron Cannons built into the binders.

The 'METAL BUILD 1.5 Gundam' is designed and supervised by mechanical designer Kanetake Ebikawa. Continuing the sophisticated and cool style of previous MB 'Gundam 00' series products, it recreates its powerful appearance, similar to the BOSS unit Reborns Gundam. Furthermore, the pair of back binders also reveal the movable mechanism for deploying the 'Alvaaron Cannons'.

In addition, next to the 'METAL BUILD 00 Qan[T]' displayed at the venue, there was a signboard announcing that a new product will be revealed in August 2024. Designer Kanetake Ebikawa himself also teased that new information about a new work will be released in August, so we can look forward to the appearance of related mobile suits.
