BANDAI CANDY, the popular candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the latest product in its popular "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE" series, the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Strike Gundam FULL WEAPON SET", slated for release in November 2024.
The protagonist mobile suit from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam, was the last of the five "G Weapons" developed by the Earth Alliance. Its armor material was lightweighted for greater flexibility, granting it extremely high mobility akin to the human body, though it relies more on the protection of its "Phase Shift Armor". Through the "Striker Pack System" equipment change mechanism, it can transform into "Aile Striker", "Sword Striker", and "Launcher Striker" forms, adapting to various missions and battlefield scenarios, achieving the goal of multi-purpose functionality from a single unit.
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE CORE Strike Gundam FULL WEAPON SET" is based on the Aile Strike Gundam released in "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #20" in 2020. The entire unit's saturation has been lowered to enhance its sense of weight, and additional body markings have been applied. Furthermore, numerous new parts have been utilized to create a wealth of accessories, including two "Armor Schneider" anti-armor combat knives, a bazooka, Sword Striker equipment, and Launcher Striker equipment.
Compared to the previous version's design which required part swapping, this time, each Striker Pack can be directly attached to the Strike Gundam's back and shoulders for equipment changes, recreating the Aile, Launcher, and Sword forms. It even includes a newly designed dedicated Aile Striker equipment that can combine with the Sword Striker and Launcher Striker equipment to recreate the three-in-one "Perfect Strike Gundam" form.
Furthermore, the three Striker Packs also leverage the settings from the "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series, allowing them to link with the 300th unit, the "Eclipse Gundam", included in 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #26', similarly recreating the Aile, Launcher, Sword, and Perfect forms.
