Japan's Sentinel (株式会社千値練) toy company once again collaborates with renowned Japanese illustrator NakaoTeppei (ナカオテッペイ) to release the latest "SUSHI-L.A. Real Sushi Size FIGURE COLLECTION," featuring his super popular sushi monsters! Scheduled for release in January 2025.
While a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles was preparing "extra-large sushi with a generous amount of wasabi," the sushi mutated due to the excessively spicy wasabi, giving birth to "Sushi Monster - SUSHI-L.A." (スシエルエー) with eyes, hands, and feet. As they walk, grains of rice fall one by one onto the ground. After 100 steps, their feet disappear, and upon death, they simply become ordinary large sushi.
The sushi topping covering them from head to back can be removed, and SUSHI-L.A.'s personality changes in various ways depending on the topping. If regular-sized sushi gets stained by their weapon, "wasabi liquid," it will be given new life and become a "sushi monster" too. However, if their movements are too violent, the "wasabi liquid" will start flowing from their head throughout their entire body, eventually leading to their demise.
*Note: The original name is SUSHI-L.A. (Japanese: スシエルエー; Chinese pronunciation: Sushi L.A.), but because many classic Japanese monster names often end with "拉" (ra), and their appearance resembles "Godzilla," the Chinese translation adopted "壽司拉" (Sushi-ra) to convey this meaning.
This "Sushi Monster SUSHI-L.A. Real Sushi Size FIGURE COLLECTION" features 1/1 scale (real sushi size) soft vinyl figures, with a total height of approximately 7 cm. Displaying them on a sushi plate makes them perfectly blend in as sushi, concealing SUSHI-L.A.'s identity! The collection includes three ingredients: Tuna, Shrimp, and Tamago (Egg), with variations that have wasabi liquid on them. Including the secret editions, there are a total of 8 types. The distinct grains of vinegared rice have a translucent luster, and the realistic sculpting and painting of the sushi toppings make the overall appearance both cute and delicious!
▼The secret edition Wasabi Tuna (Hidden Plum) features lightning-shaped wasabi liquid on its face and closed eyes, a design that pays homage to David Bowie! Additionally, there are two unrevealed SR Hidden Pine and UR Hidden Bamboo variations, which are highly anticipated!
Furthermore, this product also features a release commemoration "Hidden Plum" event. Lucky customers who purchase all three Tuna secret editions (Pine / Bamboo / Plum) will be eligible to participate in a lottery for a 10 cm soft vinyl figure of the same design, the "SUSHI-L.A. Wasabi Tuna BOY" (スシエルエー マグロわさびBOY) (not for sale, market value approximately 7,000 JPY)! This tiered lottery design, where you must first win a secret edition to qualify for the drawing, will surely make this SUSHI-L.A. BOY's value skyrocket!
