Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya today announced that the latest product in its new original plastic model kit series 'Megalo Maria', "GHILLIE DHU", is scheduled for release in December 2024.

The new series 'Megalo Maria' is Kotobukiya's first product with the vast majority of its parts manufactured domestically in Japan. Unlike previous plastic model kits featuring bishoujo-style humans or mecha girls, it adopts a new "Marionette Style" body with a humanoid puppet appearance, pursuing "poseability" and "expressiveness". Its unique composite worldview connects various Kotobukiya plastic model series in a "play-within-a-play" format, allowing for infinite possibilities in play.

The seventh character, "GHILLIE DHU", is named after a male spirit from Scottish mythology clothed in foliage, and is a male character modeled after a priest. The 18 cm tall body features 54 flexible points of articulation and can be equipped with black armor resembling a robe over its entire body. Its cross-shaped composite weapon can be used as a cannon, or a laser blade and pistol can be drawn from it, and it can also transform into a greatsword mode.

Flexible articulation designs are present in many areas, including the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and calves, allowing the figure to perform extremely flexible, lifelike movements such as seiza, hero's pose, cross-legged sitting, and full splits. The wrist joints also feature the series' common 180-degree triple-reverse structure, allowing connection points to be deployed for attaching blades or various weapons to both arms.
