Kotobukiya, the Japanese model manufacturer, today announced the upcoming release of the latest product in their popular assembly model series, 'Megami Device,' which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly posable Bishoujo bodies. The new item, 'BUSTER DOLL Paladin Darkness Claw,' featuring a next-generation new body, is scheduled for release in February 2025.
The 'BUSTER DOLL' series utilizes the 'Machineca Block2-M' posable body, newly developed by sculptor Masaki Apsy. Compared to previous bodies, the part structure has been completely revamped, developed with a focus on significantly improving assembly convenience and part interchangeability, while also enhancing the aesthetic beauty of the body lines. Its features include:
・Spherical neck joints of various sizes and lengths, compatible with multiple product specifications from Kotobukiya.
・Achieves the series' first built-in movable frame structure, greatly enhancing part interchangeability.
・Features one-piece molded leg exterior parts and a post-assembly design, reducing unsightly seams and facilitating painting and customization.
・Adds 3mm peg holes for weapon connection rings on both ears, shoulders, wrists, thighs, and calves.
・Adopts a layered armor system, further subdividing the series' traditional body and armed modes into four modes: body, costume, light armor, and heavy armor.
・Includes numerous hardpoint expansion parts, significantly increasing weapon expandability.
・Utilizes a new dedicated stand with a movable arm featuring more articulation points to stably support various poses of the main body.
・The traditional PVC soft plastic hands have been changed to hard plastic material, with weapon-holding hands capable of accommodating both round and square weapon grips, allowing for easy fixation after inserting parts.
The newly released 'BUSTER DOLL Paladin Darkness Claw' is a variant color version of the previously released product 'Paladin,' featuring parts primarily molded in black, gold, and purple to represent night combat specifications with enhanced field concealment. Additionally, the pre-painted face parts include three new expressions, and a newly designed dedicated stand is included for display. The body's limbs have also been replaced with a uniform skin tone, giving the design a cute, swimsuit-like appearance.
Aside from the colors, the armed parts are essentially the same as the regular version, including cool armor pieces, a blade-like helmet, a powerfully sized greatsword, and a cape made of clear parts on both shoulders. With 3mm pegs of common specifications, each part can be freely interchanged to change armed modes or customized with other separately sold Kotobukiya assembly model products!
