BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. of Japan will release the latest product from its highly popular "Ichiban Kuji" (一番くじ) series, where every draw wins a prize, for the popular remake anime "Ranma 1/2": "Ichiban Kuji Ranma 1/2"! The reference price is 750 JPY per draw, and it is scheduled to launch in early January 2025.
The romantic comedy manga "Ranma 1/2," created by Rumiko Takahashi, was released in 1987 and is a cherished childhood memory for many born in the 70s and 80s. Its humorous and comical plot, coupled with beautiful and handsome character designs, is considered one of Rumiko Takahashi's representative works. The protagonist, Ranma Saotome, traveled with his father to train in martial arts. In Jusenkyo, a fictional location in Qinghai Province, China, he accidentally fell into the "Spring of Drowned Girl," incurring a curse that transforms him into a female body upon contact with cold water, but he can revert to his male form by pouring hot water on himself.
After 30 years, "Ranma 1/2" will be helmed by MAPPA to produce a new remake anime, with all the original voice actors returning! This is highly anticipated and is expected to premiere exclusively on Netflix this October.
The main visual for "Ichiban Kuji Ranma 1/2" has been unveiled, along with an early reveal of the A Prize: the Female Ranma character figure. She is depicted holding a bucket and kicking up water splash effect parts, looking quite playful and adorable. A wide range of prizes is expected, including A to I prizes, a Last One Prize, and Double Chance opportunities, featuring lifestyle merchandise such as bath towels, ramen bowls, tableware, acrylic stands, and rubber collectibles. Further details will be updated later!
