LEGO 'Disney Pixar Luxo Jr.' Designed by T0BY1KENOBI25150 Confirmed for Commercialization!

In the earlier 2023 second wave review list of LEGO Ideas, a platform under the Danish LEGO toy company, the 'Disney Pixar Luxo Jr.' submitted by British LEGO fan Toby Brett under the username T0BY1KENOBI25150 has been confirmed for official commercialization!

Pixar Animation Studios' 1986 animated short film 'Luxo Jr.' is 2.5 minutes long, depicting a charming story of two desk lamps, one large (Luxo) and one small (Luxo Jr.), interacting with a rubber ball. It not only fully showcases captivating light and shadow changes, but also features incredibly smooth movement of the lamps' skeletal joints and wires. Even without a single line of dialogue throughout the film, audiences can clearly perceive the distinct personalities of the two lamps. The mischievous Luxo Jr. from the film has now become a highly significant classic icon.

This Luxo Jr. lamp designed by Toby Brett comprises 224 pieces. It was initially designed digitally, but to overcome the challenge of the model's stability, Toby opted to create it with physical bricks. He also dedicated significant effort to designing the smooth surface of the Luxo Ball, stating that the final result is one of his most satisfying achievements. Throughout approximately 11 months of creation, Toby repeatedly refined his work, and the version that garnered ten thousand votes was already his third revision.

Beyond the truly excellent appearance of the ball model, the composition of the Luxo Jr. lamp's main skeletal structure is also quite captivating to this editor. Coupled with the notably prominent lampshade, the overall design can be said to be highly faithful to the original. We are eagerly anticipating the commercialization of this set!
