Japanese animation production company GENCO has entered the capsule toy industry with its GENCO TOYS brand. Its 'Hugging Series' has announced its first product line based on the tokusatsu kaiju film "Gamera: Guardian of the Universe": 'Hugging Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (tentative translation)', featuring five types. Each capsule toy has a suggested retail price of 500 JPY and is scheduled for release in December 2024.
The 'Hugging Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (tentative translation, 抱きつきガメラ 大怪獣空中決戦)' capsule toys recreate the two major kaiju from the film, Gamera and Gyaos, in a small size of approximately 6 cm. Japanese sculptor Isasa, known for creating "Dragons Riding on Fingers", is responsible for the coloring and sculpting. In addition to meticulously detailing Gamera's layered, serrated shell and Gyaos's bat-like wings, these kaiju adopt a two-armed hugging pose. They can be enjoyed as cute companions on your fingertips or posed hugging various cylindrical objects, creating lively and interesting displays! The first wave includes five types: Gamera (Normal Color), Gamera (Night Battle Color), Gamera (Flying State), Gyaos (Normal Color), and Gyaos (Night Battle Color)!
