Hong Kong-based designer toy brand Mechnoiz Toys, following the release of the "EVANGELION Unit-13 Purple Body" at the Hong Kong Ani-Com & Games Fair 2024 in July, is now set to prioritize the sale of the original color version of "Unit-13" at the Taipei Toy Festival (TTF)!
Appearing in "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo" and "Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time", Unit-13 was referred to by Gendo Ikari as the "final instrument" in the ritual, crucial for triggering the Fourth Impact and achieving the Human Instrumentality Project. It is a dual-entry plug, two-person co-piloted EVA, with Shinji Ikari and Kaworu Nagisa serving as pilots. Its appearance is similar to Unit-01, but with slight differences in paintwork and the shape of the horn on its head. It also features two pairs of eyes (the upper pair corresponding to pilot α, the lower pair to pilot β), and a cross-shaped chest armor resembling an 'X', concealing a second pair of arms.
Mechnoiz Toys' "EVA Unit-13" maintains their consistently excellent proportions and imposing size, fully reproducing the unit's distinctive features such as its two pairs of eyes, two pairs of arms, and chest armor design. The original color scheme, judging from the official images, boasts a beautiful glossy finish and rich saturation. It also comes with two Spears of Longinus, allowing for the powerful four-armed pose seen in the film! According to Mechnoiz Toys' official Instagram, sales at TTF will be subject to daily quotas, and online pre-orders will open at the end of October. Fans of this soft vinyl series should definitely keep an eye out!
