Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "METAL ROBOT魂" series, which combines metallic paint finishes and alloy frames, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack MSV", the "METAL ROBOT魂 (Ka signature) Mass Production ν Gundam (Fin Funnel Equipment)", scheduled for release in March 2025.
The RX-94 Mass Production ν Gundam is a mass-produced variant of the "RX-93 ν Gundam" commissioned by the Earth Federation Forces to Anaheim Electronics, assuming a prolonged conflict during the Second Neo Zeon War in Universal Century 0093. It also adopted Psycoframe technology, but the materials used for its armor and frame were downgraded, resulting in approximately 80% of the original machine's performance. Furthermore, considering that not only Newtypes or Cyber Newtypes might serve as pilots, it could be equipped with either Fin Funnels or "Incoms" usable by regular soldiers. However, as the conflict rapidly subsided, only one prototype of this model was produced and never saw actual combat, and the mass production plan was shelved.
The main body of this product is based on the Incom-equipped version released in 2023, with only a slight adjustment to the blue tone of the entire blue-gray armor. The overall design is based on designer Kunio Okawara's original drawings combined with Hajime Katoki's design style, recreating its cool appearance through intricate part separation, color application, and marking prints. Furthermore, the entire movable frame is made with a large number of alloy parts, providing firm joints and a sense of weight during play.
The design of the six Newtype armaments, the "Fin Funnels," is essentially the same as the ν Gundam's. They can be linked together and mounted on the backpack. By replacing parts, it's also possible to recreate the "Double Fin Funnel Equipment" with three funnels on each side. Furthermore, it can even link with the backpack of the separately sold Incom-equipped version, using dedicated parts to form a mounting mode reminiscent of the Hi-ν.
Weapons included are a Beam Rifle, Beam Spray Gun, Beam Saber, Large Beam Saber, and Shield, which can be equipped on both hands. Additionally, the accessories also include a set of clear stands specifically for the Fin Funnels, allowing for the recreation of scenes where the funnels transform and are launched.
