The renowned tabletop game Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, from the miniatures company Games Workshop, is releasing a new edition this year. The first army to receive a revamp is the Skaven, who are getting brand-new miniatures and wargaming rules. With over 14 new miniatures, the official release is slated for late September.

Warhammer: Age of Sigmar is a grand-scale tabletop wargame where players collect, assemble, and paint their own models, organizing them into armies to battle against other players.
The insidious Skaven are hunched, man-sized rat creatures, the embodiment of famine and gluttony, and a blight upon civilization. Cunning and supremely arrogant by nature, they always fight in overwhelming numbers, employing all manner of wicked technology and weaponry in their wars.

New Heroes and Elites

【Lord Vexisk, Prophet of the Great Horned Rat】
Vexisk is a formidable daemon, clad in tattered robes and wielding an unholy gnaw-stave. Vermin crawl all over his body, and twisted horns sprout from his head. This malevolent priest makes for an excellent centerpiece in any Skaven army.

【Kretch Warptail】
Among all the Clawlords of the Clans Verminus, only Kretch Warptail is generous enough to cultivate loyalty in his underlings with the promise of survival. Though advanced in age, he remains deadly in combat, wielding the daemonic war-blade, Doomfang.

【Stormvermin】
Having undergone the most brutal training under the Clawlords and equipped with the finest gear, the Stormvermin exhibit a discipline and ferocity uncommon among Skaven, often surprising enemies who expect to face a disjointed rabble.
Skaven Technology is Second to None!

【Warlock Engineer】
The Clans Skryre are filled with genius inventors and chaos-causing engineers, constantly pursuing newer and more destructive weaponry, obsessed with pushing technology to its absolute limits.

【Warp-Grinder Weapon Teams】
The Skaven much prefer to engage from a distance, keeping themselves safe or weakening enemy forces with heavy firepower from a secure range.

【Warp-Grinder】
The beam fired from this warp-drill can tear through the fabric of reality, allowing Skaven to tunnel out of realspace and throw themselves into battle. Once the Skaven arrive, the grinder itself serves as a weapon that can easily deal with the toughest armor.
The Aberrant Creations of the Clans Moulder

【Thanquol on Boneripper】
Thanquol is the most infamous of the Grey Seers, the mouthpiece of the Chaos God, the Great Horned Rat. His curved horns are a symbol of his station, allowing him to manipulate sorcery. Thanquol always rides into battle atop Boneripper, a massive Rat Ogor bred by the Clans Moulder.

【The Brood Horror】
Among the terrifying experiments of the Clans Moulder, the Brood Horror is perhaps the most abominable. A Master Moulder is grafted onto this colossal beast, and the two-headed monster attacks ferociously with hooked flails and warpfire projectors.

【Rat Ogors】
Rat Ogors are the most famous creations of the Clans Moulder, possessing immense brawn but no brains. These stitched-together flesh brutes fly into a frenzy at the mere scent of death on the air.
