BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS of Japan has announced the latest product from the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, based on the tokusatsu film 'Gamera 2: Attack of Legion': the "Gamera (1996) Sendai Decisive Battle Ver."! The suggested retail price is 14,300 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in April 2025.
In 'Gamera 2: Attack of Legion,' the second installment of the Heisei Trilogy, Gamera's appearance in the film is larger than in the previous work, with a sharper and more refined shell design. Its originally cute style has gained more of a ferocious beastly aura, and its flight capabilities have also been significantly enhanced. The plot describes the invasion of the powerful alien species 'Legion,' which wreaks havoc in various parts of Japan and plunges Earth into crisis. Gamera uses Earth's Mana energy to fight against them, protecting the planet from ecological catastrophe.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Gamera (1996) Sendai Decisive Battle Ver." articulated figure is based on the standard version released in 2014. It was produced by monster sculptor Shinichi Wakasa and monster modeler Tomoo Haraguchi, both of whom participated in the production of the Heisei Gamera films. Recreated based on the decisive battle scene in Sendai from the film, the suit's design details have been meticulously sculpted, and the paint scheme has been reapplied, with the eye color changed to a brighter blue-green; additionally, newly sculpted battle-damaged replacement shell parts are included!
The abdominal plastron can be deployed without the need for replacement parts to recreate the state of firing the Ultimate Plasma Fireball; accessories include replacement parts for flight mode, a Plasma Fireball effect part, and a display stand, allowing fans to enjoy recreating the intense battle scenes from the film.
