BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., today announced the latest product from its popular 'FW GUNDAM CONVERGE' series, "SEED FREEDOM REVIVE ”MIGHTY”", based on the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", is scheduled for release in February 2025.
The protagonist Kira Yamato's new mobile suit, the ZGMF/A-262B Strike Freedom Gundam Type II, is a new machine developed using the latest technology from Morgenroete, half a year before the main story of "FREEDOM". It was created after the original "Strike Freedom Gundam" was shot down following an attempted terrorist hijacking. While its external appearance hasn't changed significantly, all its armaments, except for the high-energy beam rifle, have been updated. Its true power is unleashed when combined with the Proud Defender to form the "Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam". In addition to wielding the physical sword "Futsunomitama", its wings can disperse nanoparticles via psycho-transmission and unleash wide-ranging, powerful high-voltage currents to destroy enemy mobile suits. Furthermore, the most powerful hidden weapon in its head, the "Convergent Heavy Nuclear Beam Cannon", can also be deployed.
The "SEED FREEDOM REVIVE ”MIGHTY”" is a set that includes both the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II & Proud Defender. While the overall sculpt is identical to the two units previously featured in '#25', they have been re-coated with a more luxurious color scheme. The entire white armor features a lustrous pearl white finish, while the hilt of the Futsunomitama and the golden parts of the Proud Defender's wings are rendered in a luxurious gold coating. Furthermore, the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II's twin-eye cameras have been changed from their original gold to a clear yellow, closer to the official design artwork.
