The renowned Hong Kong action figure toy brand "Storm Collectibles," known for releasing numerous SNK fighting game "The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match" (KOF98'UM) character products in its 1/12 scale action figure series, is set to release a new character product in Q1 2025: "KIM KAPHWAN" from "Fatal Fury"! Priced at USD 85.
Kim Kaphwan (also translated as Kim Gap-hwan or Kim Jae-hoon; commonly referred to as Kim Kaphwan in Taiwan, and often abbreviated as KIM in-game) first appeared in "Fatal Fury 2" as a Taekwondo master from Korea. He is a fighter with a strong sense of justice, believing that evil deeds are intolerable. Due to his Taekwondo background, his moves are almost exclusively kick-based. His signature special moves include Hishou Kyaku (Flying Kick), Hienzan (Flying Swallow Slash), Hangetsuzan (Half Moon Slash), Hakikyaku (Energy Kick), and the impressive flurry-style Super Special Move "Houou Kyaku" (Phoenix Kick), among others. He is a powerful character and is almost always a participant in the KOF King of Fighters series.
This Kim Kaphwan figure from STORM COLLECTIBLES uses his appearance in "The King of Fighters '98: Ultimate Match" as its design reference, though Kim Kaphwan's overall look is largely consistent across titles. He primarily wears a white Taekwondo uniform with blue trim. The figure includes three interchangeable facial expressions, six interchangeable hand parts, and two effect parts for his moves. Combined with the excellent articulation of the base body, it can recreate various in-game moves such as Split Kick, Downward Kick, Kuusajin (Empty Sand Dust), Hienzan (Flying Swallow Slash), and Hakikyaku (Energy Kick).
