BANDAI SPIRITS' TAMASHII NATIONS, home to the S.H.Figuarts action figure brand which features the CineToy TAMASHII series (シネトイ魂！) dedicated to film and TV properties, today (the 30th) unveiled four new-spec Star Wars-themed products. Following the reveal of Han Solo, we're now taking a look at the "Chewbacca -Classic Ver.-" Action Figure from "Star Wars: A New Hope." Priced at 11,000 JPY, it's slated for release in March 2025!
Chewbacca, the Wookiee co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon, was originally a "beast" imprisoned by the Empire in the Mimban system's war zone. By chance, he encountered Han, who understood a bit of Shyriiwook, in a holding cell. After their joint escape, they became the galaxy's best partners, fighting together in numerous great battles!
This "Chewbacca -Classic Ver.-" Action Figure stands approximately 17 cm tall. Building upon the 2017 release, this version adds a new roaring open-mouth expression part and includes new handcuffed hand parts, as if captured by Imperial stormtroopers. The sculpt faithfully recreates his massive, furry body, with digital coloring technology used to reproduce the brown fur texture. Accessories include two head sculpts from the previous version, multiple interchangeable hands, and his signature bowcaster. It's perfect for posing alongside his trusty partner, Han Solo, who is also being released!
