Japan's official Mobile Suit Gundam Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, announced today the latest product from the 10th-anniversary anime 'Gundam Reconguista in G': the 'HG 1/144 G-Self (Perfect Pack Equipped Type) (Gundam Reconguista in G Theatrical Version Ver.)', which will begin sales at the store on October 26, 2024.
The G-Self equipped with the Perfect Pack is an enhanced form that appears in the latter half of the story. This specialized backpack, developed by the Venus Globe, integrates the functions of six previous packs—Atmospheric, Space, Reflector, Trick, High Torque, and Assault—allowing for real-time function switching based on combat conditions. It is also equipped with various powerful armaments such as Photon Torpedoes, All-Range Beams, and Photon Search. Among these, the Photon Torpedoes can convert the energy generated from annihilating targets back to the main unit, making it a formidable strategic weapon when considering no distinction between friend and foe.
The 'HG 1/144 G-Self (Perfect Pack Equipped Type) (Gundam Reconguista in G Theatrical Version Ver.)' is an improved version based on the standard release from several years ago. Many areas, including some joints, head, chest, and shoulders, have been replaced with new parts. Coupled with three-dimensional plastic stickers and ultra-thin color-correction stickers, the overall design and articulation structure are brought closer to the in-show settings, recreating the internal structure of the twin-eye cameras, which were depicted with exceptional animation in the film.
Parts such as the Beam Rifle, Beam Saber, Shield, and Perfect Pack remain the same as the original version. Thanks to the backpack's movable mechanisms, it can transform into Space Use Mode, Atmospheric Mode, Assault Mode, and more. Additionally, the kit will include the new display stand 'ACTION BASE 7', released in January 2024, which can be used to showcase various forms.
