Steven Spielberg Refuses to Play "Uncharted," Declares He Only Uses Keyboard and Mouse for Gaming

Steven Spielberg, the legendary director behind countless masterpieces such as "Jurassic Park," "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," "Schindler's List," and "Ready Player One," is not only a monumental figure in Hollywood but also a passionate video game enthusiast. He has previously been involved in various video game-related projects.

While some adult gamers might lose their passion or time for gaming as they age, for Steven Spielberg, neither time nor age has diminished his love for video games—unless you ask him to pick up a controller, in which case he might just refuse.

Recently, Steven Spielberg's son, game developer Max Spielberg, revealed in an interview with the gaming show "MinnMax" that he once tried to recommend story-driven games like the "Uncharted" series to his father, only to be met with an unexpected rejection.

"He's big into story games, and I'm always trying to get him to play 'Uncharted,' because it's kind of like 'Indiana Jones.' So I'm always like, 'Hey, Dad, you would love this game,' and he's like, 'I don't play with controllers. I only play with a keyboard and mouse,'" Max Spielberg explained.

Max further elaborated that when he showed his father a Roguelike game he developed, Steven Spielberg still refused to use a controller. This meant Max had to play through it himself to demonstrate the gameplay and the type of experience it offered.

Given Steven Spielberg's dedication as a PC gamer, Max also shared that his father is a huge fan of "Call of Duty." "He loves 'Call of Duty,' he opens it up every time, and he plays the story campaign," Max said.

However, Max admitted that his father's deep love for video games has become their most significant shared interest, stating, "He's the one that got me into it."
