Kotobukiya, the Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product in its popular 'Megami Device' series of mecha girl plastic models: "Takahata Nodoka [Shimon]" from the anime "Alice Gear Aegis Expansion", slated for release in March 2025.
Takahata Nodoka, the original protagonist of the anime "Alice Gear Aegis Expansion", was initially a 15-year-old girl who loved mountain climbing. One day, after witnessing Yotsuyu Hirasaka's dynamic combat appearance on TV, she became a devoted fan. She not only collected a vast amount of Yotsuyu's merchandise but even went directly to Narukozaka Manufacturing to get closer to Yotsuyu, volunteering to become an "Actress" just like her. However, due to insufficient aptitude for the profession, she nearly gave up. Under Yotsuyu's persuasion and the rigorous training from everyone at Narukozaka, Nodoka eventually successfully obtained her Actress license.
"Megami Device Takahata Nodoka [Shimon]" is a modification of the previously released standard version. It utilizes numerous new parts and new molding colors to recreate her ace battle suit design, which appeared after she became a playable character in the mobile game version. This release thoroughly reproduces the character body designed by Rikiya Okano and the battle suit and armaments designed by Kanetake Ebikawa.
The Takahata Nodoka body also employs the highly articulated 'Machineca' body designed by sculptor Masaki Apsy. It incorporates numerous new parts such as sleeves, skirts, and shoes to faithfully recreate the red and white ace battle suit. With the included three pre-painted face parts and various PVC hand parts, collectors can enjoy posing her in a multitude of adorable stances thanks to the flexible articulation design.
The vibrant red Another Version armament uses new parts to recreate the distinctively shaped headgear and back thrusters, and features an original deployment mechanism unique to the plastic model. Utilizing multi-axis movable connection parts, the six thrusters can rotate in multiple directions and alter their silhouette, allowing for impressive combat poses with weapons such as the rifle and greatsword.
