Bandai's GASHAPON division in Japan has announced the release of a new gashapon product based on the classic anime "Cardcaptor Sakura" – the "Cardcaptor Sakura: Release the Seal Collection 2" gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with an anticipated release in late January 2025!
"Cardcaptor Sakura" is an original work by the manga group CLAMP, adapted into a magical girl anime by Japanese animation studio MADHOUSE. It tells the story of protagonist Sakura Kinomoto, who becomes a Cardcaptor to retrieve all the Clow Cards and prevent them from causing destruction. As the story progresses, Sakura's magic wands and card sets also evolve and change, with various toys being released alongside each new anime season.
Following the release of classic items like the Sealing Wand, Star Wand, Dream Wand, and Clow Cards in the first installment in 2023, this "Cardcaptor Sakura: Release the Seal Collection 2" focuses on the "Sakura Card Arc" and features five item models! The re-included Star Wand has a rotating star, and its tip can magnetically attach to Sakura's Sealing Book, which is released simultaneously, for play! This collection also includes the pink diamond communication phone used by Tomoyo and Sakura to talk, featuring pressable buttons, as well as the inline skates worn by Sakura in classic illustrations, with wheels that can rotate! Furthermore, the Sun, Moon, and Star Staff – the magic wand formed by the combined powers of the sun, moon, and stars, which Kero and Yue helped Sakura achieve in episode 23 of the "Sakura Card Arc" – will be officially rendered in 3D in this collection, reaching a large size of 15.5 cm when assembled! All five designs are meticulously crafted to recreate their in-series appearances while adding small clever touches to enhance playability. Fans of "Cardcaptor Sakura" should definitely not miss out!
