BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan is set to release the latest product from the 3D animation 《Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance》, the 'HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type Solari's Machine', on October 19, 2024. Official box art designs, actual sample images, and other new information have been unveiled just before its release.
The MS-06F Zaku II F-Type piloted by the protagonist Solari in the series is the official mass-produced Zaku II manufactured by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. It features numerous improvements over its predecessor, the 'MS-05 Zaku I', addressing issues such as poor heat dissipation and insufficient engine output, and further refines shortcomings found in the initial mass-production type (C-Type). As the leader of the 'Red Wolf' squad, Solari's Zaku features a commander-type head equipped with multiple communication antennas, and its body boasts distinctive red paintwork and a wolf claw motif. The overall design, reinterpreted by mechanical designer Kimitoshi Yamane, features detailed styling such as spiked shoulder armor, shoulder shields, and leg power pipes, which differ from the original settings.
The 'HG 1/144 Zaku II F-Type Solari's Machine' utilizes more precise injection-molded parts compared to previous products, faithfully reproducing the protagonist's mobile suit designed by Kimitoshi Yamane. Every intricate detail, from the armor surface lines to the internal structure of the shield, is fully sculpted. Furthermore, the included stickers allow for the recreation of the distinctive wolf claw markings on the feet, body emblems, and battle damage grime.
In addition to flexible articulation in various joints, the segmented skirt armor design maintains aesthetic integrity while expanding the range of motion for the thighs. The head part features a mono-eye camera position adjustment mechanism, and the leg power pipes incorporate a new movable axis design that reduces interference and rotates in conjunction with knee joint bending. Weapon accessories include the Zaku Machine Gun and Heat Hawk, both featuring high-density detail sculpting.
