BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, today announced the latest product from its classic alloy toy "Chogokin" series, the "Gundam EX" from the 3D animation "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance", scheduled for release in June 2025.
The RX-78(G)E Gundam EX, designed by Kimitoshi Yamane, the designer of the Gundam Ez8, is one of the latest RX-78 series Gundam mobile suits developed by the Earth Federation Forces during the One Year War. In the story, it was deployed to the European front in Universal Century 0079, November. To enable deep penetration into enemy lines for forced reconnaissance and rear disruption, its mobility and operating time were specially enhanced. It was also equipped with beam rifles and beam sabers, which surpassed the power of solid-projectile weapons, even earlier than the Zeon forces, thoroughly devastating Zeon's Zaku-led counterattack units. However, all development data for this machine was destroyed during the chaotic post-war period, becoming a secret unknown to later generations.
The "Chogokin Gundam EX" utilizes alloy materials for multiple armor and joint sections, showcasing the series' characteristic weighty texture and substantial feel. Standing approximately 18.5 cm tall, its size boasts even more precise detailing compared to the model kit version, largely recreating the complex armor segmentation and practical mechanisms designed by Kimitoshi Yamane. The head also features a built-in LED lighting mechanism, capable of reproducing its devil-like appearance from the series.
Weapon accessories include a beam rifle, rocket launcher, beam sabers, and a large shield. The Gatling guns and beam saber storage racks mounted on the left and right sides of the backpack can rotate via multi-axis movable mechanisms. The beam saber effects feature a blue and pink gradient paint application, expressing realistic temperature changes and immense power. Coupled with the highly flexible articulated joints throughout the body, you can recreate the terrifying combat poses seen from the perspective of Zeon soldiers in the series.
