Tom Holland on Joining Christopher Nolan's Next Film: "A Call of a Lifetime"; Confirms "Spider-Man 4" Shoots Next Summer with "Crazy" New Idea

"Spider-Man" star Tom Holland has a packed schedule. In addition to the upcoming production of Marvel's "Spider-Man 4" and future "Avengers" installments, it was recently confirmed that Holland will join acclaimed director Christopher Nolan's next film, starring alongside Matt Damon.

Holland recently appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America," where he spoke publicly for the first time about both projects. He shared that receiving Nolan's call was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Holland explained that when the opportunity arose, it felt like a call of a lifetime, reminding him of the call he received about "Spider-Man" a decade ago. He added that it was an incredible moment for him, making him feel immensely proud and excited.

Details about Nolan's new film remain scarce, and despite the show's host attempting to elicit more information, Holland remained tight-lipped.

Holland stated that all he could say about joining Nolan's film was that he was incredibly excited and, obviously, honored. He reiterated that he couldn't reveal more because, truthfully, he didn't know much beyond that.

Furthermore, Holland confirmed his return for "Spider-Man 4," revealing that the film is set to begin production next summer. He told fans that "Spider-Man 4" is definitely happening and that they were close to finalizing a fantastic creative direction, which he believed fans would be eager to see. He expressed confidence that the idea was brilliant and confirmed that "Spider-Man 4" is indeed on its way, with filming slated for next summer. He described the concept as "crazy" and distinct from previous films, but assured fans they would love it.

Nolan's new film is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026, with rumors suggesting it could be a 1920s vampire horror movie. Meanwhile, "Spider-Man 4" is expected to hit theaters between the two upcoming "Avengers" sequels.
