TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., today officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam," the robot-themed action figure series "ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E." The "Galbaldy Beta" is scheduled for release in April 2025.
The RMS-117 Galbaldy Beta is a mobile suit that was improved and mass-produced in Universal Century 0087. It was based on the design data of the "Galbaldy Alpha," a close-combat mobile suit developed by the former Principality of Zeon military and redesigned from the "MS-15 Gyan," after the Earth Federation Forces took over the data. Its exterior armor was lightened and its power engine enhanced. Compared to the "High Mobility Zaku" used by the Federation Forces at the same time, it had lower defense but outstanding mobility, thus requiring higher piloting skills. In the series, it was operated by ace pilots such as Lila Milla Rira.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS Galbaldy Beta ver. A.N.I.M.E." faithfully reproduces the mobile suit designed by Mamoru Nagano with an articulated specification of approximately 13 cm in height. Its overall styling closely matches the body proportions and leg armor curves from the anime design drafts. Combined with multi-axis movable joints in the knees and elbows, and pull-out shoulder joints, it can naturally and flexibly recreate battle poses from the series.
In addition to the beam rifle, beam saber, and shield with built-in missiles, various mechanisms are also featured throughout the mobile suit. The head can reproduce the deployed state of the flare launcher by replacing parts. The beam saber hilt can be stored in the backpack (TV version) or in the shoulder armor (movie version). The thrusters on the shoulder armor can be equipped with jet effects from the separately sold "Rick Dias ver. A.N.I.M.E." to recreate battle scenes from the series.
