BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan is set to release its latest product, the "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Cal-re", from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM on October 26, 2024. Official new information, including product box art design and actual sample images, has been released ahead of its launch.
The NOG-M2D1/E Black Knight Squad Cal-re is the latest cutting-edge two-seater mobile suit in the Black Knight series, independently developed by the Foundation combining P.L.A.N.T. technology. It is piloted jointly by the Foundation's Prime Minister, Orphee Lam Tau, and his secretary, Ingrid Tradoll. This mobile suit's performance far surpasses that of other Black Knight series units, equipped with "FT Armor" that significantly defends against beam attacks, and 8 DRAGOON System wings derived from P.L.A.N.T. technology. Each wing features 8 beam cannons, totaling an impressive 64 beam cannons. Furthermore, it can even control the large DRAGOON System "AMO-01 Ziggurat," which resembles a small battleship.
The "HG 1/144 Black Knight Squad Cal-re" is produced using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology, utilizing molded part colors to reproduce the mobile suit's colors as accurately as possible. The golden engravings on the entire body armor are recreated using "realistic metallic gloss injection parts." It also features the "SEED Action System," capable of recreating classic poses from the Gundam SEED series. With flexible joint designs such as double joints in the forearms and independently swinging hip joints for the legs, dynamic battle poses from the film can be achieved.
Weapon accessories include a beam rifle and two anti-ship swords. The chest armor can be deployed to reveal internal beam cannon muzzles. The backpack's DRAGOON System can recreate the wing deployment by swapping parts, and printed PET sheets can be attached to reproduce the magnificent Wings of Light effect. The 8 deployed DRAGOON System beam cannons can recreate beam effects from the armor muzzles on both sides, allowing for the depiction of all-range attacks.
